Following years of development and with the co-operation of airlines, their security and management teams, engineering and finance departments, cabin crew and catering partners around the world, Transeal have created a new electronic tamper evident seal & locking system known as the defendAir, which was introduced to the marketplace in December 2013. This new dimension in container security has been specifically designed to improve cabin safety, aircraft and airline security; as well as reduce losses through both organised and opportunist theft whilst providing a more cost-effective alternative to single-use plastic disposable seals and outdated padlocks.
defendAir has a 10-year operational life, is maintenance free and carries full EASA certification and approval to be retro-fitted to all known Boeing and Airbus galley equipment.
defendAir’s unique seal number generator provides an evidential audit trail for any container to which it is fitted, from the moment it leaves the bond from where it was packed and sealed to the time it returns, through its wireless download capability. It records every event when opened and closed and when locked or unlocked, by day and time – down to the nearest second. defendAir will also visibly display a flashing ‘ALERT’ warning after any attempt is made to gain access to it unlawfully.
It is a visible deterrent against interference, is simple to use, is highly cost effective and a more environmentally sound alternative to conventional plastic & metal disposable seals, padlocks, keys and strapping.
